Following the announcement of the government enhancements surrounding COVID-19 on 23rd March 2020, AMES want to reassure you all that our service and operations will continue as normal.
In line with the announced enhancements, we have taken necessary steps to protect our employees and our customers, whilst maintaining our high level of service and support for essential businesses and keyworkers, as well as offering emergency support for all of our clients.
All of our office staff will be remotely working from home and are fully operational. You can contact our team via the usual channels;

Our field based staff will continue to service our client base, as this task “absolutely cannot be done from home”. Each operative has received a dedicated virtual toolbox talk on the necessary precautions, which they should take whilst in the field, as well as all operatives wearing the recommended appropriate PPE for the visit.
All routine visits, emergency call outs and surveys will be subject to a pre-visit COVID-19 questionnaire, followed by a dynamic risk assessment on arrival to the location by the operative. Mandatory questions include;
- Before attendance – can the visit still be completed during the current climate?
- Have there been any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the property?
If yes, the visit will be put on hold, until a further risk assessment has been completed.
- Can the operative sign in/enter the building/carry out the visit whilst maintaining safe social distancing at all times?
If this cannot be maintained, the visit will be put on hold.
In most instances we imagine the visits will proceed.
Our work is important with regards to keeping the public safe. The servicing we provide helps to keep pests out of commercial buildings and residential homes, working to support our nation at this unprecedented time.
Pests can spread many diseases and the importance of the pest control industry to the nation as an essential service cannot be understated. Unfortunately, the government has not prioritised us as an “essential service” at present, but this could all change.
As a nation, we absolutely cannot afford to have our medical facilities, schools, supermarkets, commercial buildings or homes uninhabitable; especially as the government are communicating to us that we are all to stay at home. We deem pest control services to be essential for this reason.
Our number one priority is the protection of our employees and our customers. We have made many changes throughout the business to comply to the regular government updates and will continue to do so for all future enhancements.
